Allison & Dan’s Wedding at The Roundhouse in Beacon New York

When I heard that Allison was a preschool teacher and that Dan was a fireman, I knew that we would be working with some big-hearted people. We were right and more than that they are incredibly fun, adventurous and awesome to photograph!

The wedding was held in the town of Beacon, just over an hour north of NYC. It’s a beautiful little town with rustic charm. Many artists live in Beacon and just about everywhere you look there is something for the eye to gaze at, be it Mother Nature’s work or that of the artists that reside there.

The Roundhouse was the spectacular venue that held the big celebration.  The Roundhouse sits on 6 acres of land next to the Fishkill River and is made up of a series of historic buildings that have been renovated with modern touches.

Allison’s Casablanca wedding dress was a work of art. It was unique, stunning, fascinating and I could have taken a million pictures of it!  Even the little cuff sleeves had the most intricate beautiful flower design on it.

I adored the abstract repetitive flower design on the dress. Great dress on the hanger, AMAZING dress on Allison!

Allison’s Mom had the honor of dressing her to perfection while Dan’s Mom looked on with a big approving smile!

The honeymoon suite had a big round tub and well…I had a willing bride!!!

Dan was all smiles as he prepared to meet Allison for the first look!

Allison had a long walk across crackling leaves, giving Dan a clue as to how close she was!

The twinkle in her eye – the dimples in his cheeks!!! Adorable!

Dan takes in how gorgeous his bride-to-be is!

Peeking out from different locations was Allison’s bridesmaids and Dan’s dad!

Allison’s green shoes were the perfect touch!

The two hit the colorful streets of Beacon enjoying shouts from the passing cars and waves from those shopping inside the stores! An exuberant show of happiness is a huge part of why I love this image.  The gust of wind and a little red hydrant well that was icing on the cake!! Especially since we are working with a fireman here!

When Greg and I scout a location for photography ideas sometimes we have ideas that we love…but we know that a bride in a wedding dress might not!  But we’re talking about Allison here, I mean she already hopped into a bathtub for me!  By having them stand amongst a small plot of weeds we were able to take this rustic location and make it look like a field! Allison and Dan- thank you for being so willing! This bridal party was so much fun to work with, you can’t even tell that it was FREEZING! All the flowers for the wedding were beautifully created by La Bella Rosa.Allison is escorted down the aisle by her father. I love the expression on Dan’s face as Allison approaches.Such an amazing venue for a wedding!Married!!While the guests were enjoying cocktail hour, the staff at the Roundhouse quickly turned the room over from the ceremony  into a spectacular reception!

Allison and Dan shared their first dance while everyone looks on with smiles of happiness!Dan’s brother started off the toasts and had everyone laughing with stories from Dan’s past! The matron of honor, Allison’s twin brother’s wife, attempted to make her speech but her son wanted a turn first! As little ones do, he quickly became bored of the microphone and was set down so Mom could finish her toast. Look at that smile as he scrambles away!Hands down Dan won the 2012 award for the best dancing groom! From the first song to the last Dan could be found spinning around the dance floor making everyone join in on the fun!  Great job on the music done by DJ Mav of DJ Mav Entertainment.“Woop ’em Gangnam Style”!Surrounded by their friends and family Allison danced with her father and then Dan with his mother. The way Dan looks at Allison melts my heart! So much love, so much happiness!Allison was nonstop hugging and kissing all night, this is clearly a bride who is so grateful for her family and friends!Dan with one of his many signature dance moves! It was obvious by the third song or so that both families love to dance and celebrate! There was even a little fun competition between the two on the dance floor!Allison gives her parents one big bear hug!At the last song everyone circled around thew newlyweds…And then gave one big wave of celebration to end the night!

Allison and Dan we wish you a life full love, happiness, big hugs and crazy dance moves!!!
