Elizabeth & Dan’s Engagement Session!

When I decided to be a full time Mom and still run a full time photography business I knew something would pay the sacrifice.  I made sure it wasn’t my clients and I hope Jax feels it was not him.  If I had to guess the one thing besides my sleep that suffered the most it would be my poor blog!  And I love blogging but it is a lot of work!  My goal for this year was to improve my blogging frequency. Well I have already failed achieving this goal but I am officially stating it again- my blogging will drastically improve!  Let’s start now!

Elizabeth and Dan are our lovely subjects for this Saturday’s wedding!  Their engagement shoot happened in the fall and turned into a little photo tour of some of their favorite places!  We started in the gritty streets of Tribecca and ended in one of Elizabeth’s favorite parks…wait til you see it!

I did some of my usual “warm up” pictures with these two but honestly there was no need.  From the first frames they were smiling and laughing, it was clear to me that with this kind of happiness you don’t need a warm up!

I love how naturally these two just lean and smile and how Elizabeth crossed her ankles…all I said was “Go over there by that wall”! Naturals!

Although we didn’t go into Puffy’s, I loved their little wagon outside this old-school NYC tavern!  Now on to that park…

Not only was Elizabeth’s favorite park so incredibly quaint, the light was a photographers dream. There is something really exciting about working in the light of the setting sun, you have to work fast and work smart because we all know how quickly it fades.

The park was perfect. The golden light was perfect. The trees were perfect. The amber leaves were perfect. But it was these two that made this shot what it is.  I can only do so much, clients in love and willing to share it with the camera make for moments such as this!  Thank you Elizabeth and Dan for being those clients!

Elizabeth and Dan, we are really looking forward to your wedding at South Street Seaport’s Bridgewaters, where Lady Liberty will be in the distance once again and we know those smiles will be as radiant as ever!!
